The effects of applied information technologies on managers of hotel establishment: A research in five-star hotel establismnents in Antalya

The purpose of this study is to examine how business managers of 5-star hotels in Antalya province influenced by use of information technologies. In this context the managers of 176 hotels in Antalya are determined as the universe of this study.. The information obtained at the end of this research was analyzed by using descriptive statistical methods.As a result of the analysis it was concluded that the using of information technologies has positive effects on hotel managers. It was seen that managers practiced some functions such as checking, planning, coordination and organization more efficiently by the help of Information Technologies. Besides managers can find more effective and productive environment thanks to Information Technologies. This study is important because this study covers the province of Antalya where, is too important for tourism of Turkey. Many of five-star hotel in Turkey are in Antalya. Therefore, should be considered.a generalization can be done around the Turkey. Nevertheless this generalization is not very accurate because between the hotels of Antalya and city hotels, there are some differences in the structural and managerial.Keywords: Hotel Establishments, Information Technologies, Information Systems, Management, Antalya, Five-Star Hotels.
