Abstract (EN)

As fossil fuel resources exhaust, countries have turned to new sources of energy and searched for new options that are in sectors. Under these conditions, new architectural approaches focus on an environment and ecology for a liveable world and ecologic designs begin to appear. In this design approach, close relationship is seen with a nature and this relationship offer authentic architectural examples whith local aspects. Computers make a significant contribution to ecological design. In CAD software priorto BIM systems, evaluation of climatic data was time consuming and very diffucult for the designers. They were partly responsible for uniform buildings that are not suitable for the context of the area where they were built. These type of buildings are also common there is in Antalya, where there is important potential for passive climatisation design. BIM system simulations, offer evaluation of the area conditions and climate issues for designers. Whit this simulation, feature efficient buildings can be designed in terms of energy, solar radiation and wind. In that respect, computer aided designs take an important role in developing eco-friendly and ecological designs. In this thesis, three historical buildings are chosen in the Side residential district. In Antalya, they were analyzed by BIM systems according to wind, sun and energy productivity. As a result of assessments, buildings were confirmed to be built according to ecological criteria. Keywords: Ecologic Design, Side, Antalya, Environment, Historic Houses, BIM
