Abstract (EN)
The study has been done to asses the effect of field trip method and computer aided teaching which is an alternative to the existing inquiry based teaching programme of national education on the academical success to light unit and student's attitude on science. The research was progressed with 138 students of the 7th grade in Mustafa Necati Secondary school located in Şahinbey, Gaziantep. The controlled group pretest posttest experimental design has been used on the research. The research groups consist of experiment 1 (the group of computer aided practiced), experiment 2 (the group of both computer aided teaching and field trip method) and control groups (the group of inquiry based teaching practiced). The research was fullfilled by two different implementers simultaneously during 4 weeks on all the groups. Both implementers have three study groups (experiment 1, experiment 2 and control) and is consisted of totally 6 groups. To asses the student's academic success, light unit academical success test was fullfilled and to assess the attituded on science, the attitude on science test was fullfilled on the research all the groups by the implementers. Before the post tests an implemented on all experiment 2 students in the research, a scholar trip to Turkcell Planethouse and Science Center located in Gaziantep province was organized and after the tour, the last tests were implemented. MANOVA, ANCOVA, ANOVA and dependent t-tests were utilized for the data analysis. According to the t-test analysis results of the paired student tests of all groups, there apperaed statistically significant difference in the IÜABT pre test-post test design (p=000). All the implemented methods as a result can be said to have contribituon on the improvements into the groups. When IÜABT post test points ANCOVA analysis results have been searched, it can be said that the most effective method is computer aided-field trip method, then inquiry based teaching and the least effective is computer aided only. It can be concluded that computer aided teaching that is exclusively used is not as effective as the other methods into the consideration of increasing the students' academical success. According to paired groups t-test analysis results, there did not appear a significant difference in the averages of FKTT pre test-post test design (experiment 1p=.782, experiment 2p=.192, control=.717). In accordance with FKTT post test ANOVA analysis results of all groups, there appears statistically significant difference into the groups (p=.019). To identify which groups have this significant difference, a test called Tukey HSD was implemented and as a result, it was revealed that experiment 1 and experiment 2 have significant difference that has been mentioned above (p=.014). The reason of this difference is thought to result from field trip method, implementation in addition to computer aided. As a result of the research, the methods that have been implemented on 7th grade students contributed to their academic improvement and success in an effective way but student's science interest made no progress.
