Abstract (EN)
Thesis study involves designing, improving and making a prototype with having computer-controlled shedding, weaving design and patterning as a new version of the semi-automated punched-card sampling loom, manufactured by Gulas-Machine (Istanbul) and making production performance tests of this machine. Main frame and all of the machine elements on the main frame were designed and improved in new sizes and different view. After designing and improving stages a new commercial product with higher spesifications comparing with the semi-automated punched-card sampling loom has been made. A Woven Pattern Design Program that can manage the shedding function of this machine, was developed with DELPHI XE5 version. The developed Woven Pattern Design Program, not only manage the machine functions but also it can be used for individual studies for the weaving patterns and production planning. To evaluate the production performance of the improved prototype loom and woven pattern design program samples were woven in selected weave types. The results of weaving periods and structural characteristics of the samples were shown in graphs.
