Computer and teaching technologies teacher candidates' teaching and computer teaching self efficacy perceptions

The purpose of this research is to examine whether the teacher and computer teaching perceptions show difference according to computer education and instructional technologies students? sex,age,the kind of high school they graduate,the level of class and university where they attend education or not.This research which is model of scanning was done with the attendance of 184 teacher candidates (75 female, 109 male) who are the 1st and the 4th class level teacher candidates at the İnönü University and 18 Mart University? department of computer education and instructional technologies in 2008-2009 teaching year spring term.The data of research was collected through teachers? self effifacy scale (TSES-teacher self effifacy scale) that is adapted to Turkish by Çapa, Çakıroğlu and Sarıkaya (2005) and developed by Tschannen-Moran and Woolfolk Hoy (2001), computer teaching self efficacy scale that is developed by Umay,Orhan,Akkoyunlu (2005).Arithmetic Mean, Standard Deviation, Analysis of Variance, t test, Pearson Correlation and Scheffe test were used to analyze the data quantitatively.The research has yielded the following results:1- While computer education and instructional technologies teacher candidates show differences about computer teaching self efficacy perceptions according to sex, age and class level; it doesn?t show difference about the high school they graduated and universities they attend.2- While there is difference between the teacher candidates who attend different universities? computer education and instructional technologies in that their teacher self-efficacy educational strategies and class management efficacy dimension, but there is no difference about perception?s student attandence.3- Teacher self efficacy perceptions don?t show differencies about sex,age,the high school they graduated and class levels.4- There is a positive and statistically meaningful relationship between the computer education and teacher self efficacy perceptions of computer education and instructional technologies? teacher candidates.Key Words: Self efficacy, Computer Teaching Self efficacy, Teacher Self efficacy.
