The research was designed in accordance with the pre-test-final test and experiment- control group design. While the Experiment group studied ?Introduction to Computer? through screen reading, the control group studied through reading from the printed materials. As a result of analyzing the data obtained from the success test, the following findings were found out. .No difference at a significant level was observed between post-test score averages of experimental and control groups arranged according to the pre-tests. .A significant difference was found between permanence test score averages arranged according to the pre-tests of the experimental and control groups. .The common effect of performed method (reading from a printed material and reading from the screen) and gender upon post-test success scores was not found at a significant level. .The common effect of performed method (reading from a printed material and reading from the screen) and gender upon permanence test success scores was not found at a significant level. In the light of these findings, the following can be suggested. .It can be more useful to read the electronic texts by transforming them to the printed materials. .In teaching carried out through electronic texts, the factors such as the learning environment, the health of the learned should also be taken into consideration.
