Investigation of science and art center teachers' views on project counseling competencies

The aim of this research is to reveal the project consultancy competencies of Science and Art Center teachers according to their own views, to examine these competency levels according to some variables and to make the necessary evaluations. For this purpose, a measurement tool was developed to determine the project consultancy competencies of teachers. In the study, cross-sectional survey method and relational research method were applied within the scope of general survey models. Research data were collected by means of the developed Teacher Project Counseling Efficiency Scale (ÖPDYÖ). The universe of the research; consists of teachers working in BİLSEMs in 81 provinces in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample, on the other hand, was chosen from the teachers working in different BİLSEMs during the development of the measurement tool and the implementation of the developed scale. In the analysis of data; Independent sample t-test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test, Gabriel test, Welch test, ANOVA F value and Eta square (η2) formulas were used. The collected data were analyzed through SPSS and AMOS package programs. As a result of the research, 4-factor ÖPDYÖ was developed. The averages of the total scores of the participants from the ÖPDY scale were converted into Z standard scores, and the project consultancy proficiency levels were determined and the score ranges for these levels were revealed. In addition, it was determined that the project consultancy competencies of the teachers who received project consultancy training, who provided consultancy to more projects in total, who were successful in the TÜBİTAK research projects competition, who had a high graduate education level and who had more BİLSEM experience, were higher.
