In the historical development process of science Paul K. Feyerabend's philosophy of science

When it comes to philosophy of science, one of the important thinkers to focus on is Paul Karl Feyerabend. The philosophy of science, which has made progress especially since the end of the 19th century, provided the opportunity to discuss the methods of accessing information and scientific traditions. However, the issue of whether any method alone will be sufficient in obtaining scientific knowledge has become a controversial issue. Thus, it is seen that the objections to the understanding that science can solve all kinds of problems on its own or reject the elements that are incompatible with it are increasing. In this context, it is understood that Feyerabend's epistemological anarchism thought is a fundamental objection to the traditional understanding of science. His design of science is based on the understanding that there can be no definite and immutable universal laws in science and that different ways of acquiring knowledge are possible. The present study aims to discuss Feyerabend's idea of epistemological anarchism and science design. In this framework the position of his ideas in the historical development process of modern science will be examined. Additionally, the views of Popper, Kuhn, and Lakatos, who approach existing scientific designs with a critical perspective, will be compared with Feyerabend's philosophy of science, and different and original aspects of Feyerabend will be determined.
