Abstract (EN)
Objective: This research was conducted to examine the effect of mindfulness oriented psychoeducation applied to the nursing students on mindfulness level, anger level, anger expression and interpersonal relationship styles of students. Material and Methods: In the study, pre test, post test, one month and three month follow up randomized controlled experimental method were used. The research was carried out in Aydın Adnan Menderes University Nursing Faculty, 2022-2023 academic year with the first year nursing students. The students of 84 (Experimental: 42 and Control: 42) determined by the randomization method were included in the study sample. Data were collected using Personal Information Form, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale, State Trait Anger Expression Inventory and Interpersonal Style Scale. In the analysis of the data, in addition to descriptive statistics, Chi-Square Test, Fisher Chi-Square Test, Fisher's Exact, independent sample t test, Mann Whitney U, two-way analysis of variance in repeated measurements and Friedman test were used. Results: In the study, it was found that post test and first month mean mindful attention awareness scores of the nursing students in the experimental group were statistically significantly higher than the nursing students in the control group (p<0.05). It was found that the average scores of the students in the experimental group scored mindful attention awareness and anger control increased; the average scores of trait anger, avoidant style, angry style and manipulative style decreased after psychoeducation compared to before psychoeducation (p<0.05). Conclusion: In this study, it was concluded that the mindfulness oriented psychoeducation applied to nursing students increases the students' mindfulness and anger control levels, reduces their trait anger levels and negative interpersonal relationship styles. It has been recommended to plan training programs involving mindfulness practices for nursing students.
