Özet (EN)
SUMMARY This study has been planned and performed as descriptive to determine the insensible and nonprescribed drug using of individuals, their health responsibility levels and to examine the relations between them. The research involved 50.000 people getting health service from Yenişehir Health Center in Erzurum. 397 subjects were selected among them, based on The Minimum Sample Size, developed by Yamane and adapted into Turkish by İdil. These 397 people were divided up into 7 neighborhoods so the number of subjects from each part was 59. To make it whole number it was raised to 60. Then, one individual from each randomly chosen house was included in the study and the questionnaire was applied until the number of subjects reached 420. Later, because of misreplying and incorrect data 9 of the questionnaire forms were eliminated and 411 of them evaluated. The questionnaire form included questions about the sociodemographic features, the health responsibility of the persons, their drug using principles and nonprescribed drug using. Data were analyzed by correlation, the one-way variance analysis (ANOVA), and chi-square test, Student t-test percentage distribution and Duncan test. In the present study, it was determined that health responsibility levels of persons were low, and the descriptive features such as age, education, marital status, the places where they spent an important part of their lives and profession groups all effected health responsibility level. It was determined that 68 % of persons used nonprescribed drugs, and the drugs mostly taken without a prescription were analgesic and antipyretic drugs. When the health responsibility level was examined according to behaviors related to drug using principles; the health responsibility level of persons had an important effect on parameters such as taking the drug from pharmacy in time, using frequency, dose andVI period proposed, fitting to hunger-full up principle, paying attention to the deadline, taking drug from others, giving drug to others and nonprescribed drug taking from pharmacy. However, it was determined that educational status was the most important factor affecting drug using, and sex, age, marital status, having or not having a chronic disease and income status had also a important effects on nonprescribed drug using. Consequently, it was determined that there had an important relation between unconscious and specially nonprescribed drug using with the health responsibility level and the sociodemograpnhic features of persons.
