Evaluation of microvascular and macrovascular findings in patients with diabetes mellitus without known chronic complications

Objective: In diabetic patients who do not have chronic complications known in our study, we aimed to evaluate microvascular and macrovascular findings through various labors and imaging methods and emphasize the importance of determining the underlying complications as much as the treatment of diabetes. Materials and methods: Between 2013-2023 at the Department of Hematology 210 patients followed by NHL diagnosis were included in the study. Patients' files and Clinical and laboratory findings of all applications from the hospital digital archive system, Data for the treatments were screened and recorded. The primary ending point of our study treatment The response rates were survival analysis and toxicity. Findings: 16 (32 %) of 50 patients involved in the study were male and 34 (68 %) were female. The average age of patients was 52.6 ± 3.1 years. Body mass index (BMI) average was determined as 24.5 ± 3.7 (Median: 24). The average duration of diabetes was recorded as 12.6 ± 6.8 years (Median: 13 years). When we look at the habits of the patients, 50 %(n = 25) was found to use cigarettes and 10 %(n = 5) used alcohol. In 54 %of patients (n = 27) of patients, retinopathy, 50 %(n = 25) neuropathy, 62 %(n = 31) abnormal echocardiography (EKO) findings, 34 %(n = 17) in lower extremity doppler and 42 %of the carotic dopps were identified. In addition, the average of spot urine albumin/creatinine ratio was 38.1 ± 43.8 (Median: 20.3). Conclusion: According to the results obtained, it was determined that diabetes were high in microvascular and macrovascular complications and a strong relationship between microvascular and macrovascular abnormalities. The findings forms a strong basis for more large -scale and long -term prospective research in the future.
