Project management in information tecnology

Today, information systems play an important role in organization's success. Firms should use information systems to boost productivity, to reduce cost, and to improve new products and processes. Firms have to choose the right systems about their fields of activity. Subsequently, firms reach their goals via expert project management. In this thesis, the descriptions, the components, the types of information systems as well as the basic tenets of project management, project life cycle, project management process group, the basic fallacies done, project scope management, project time management, project cost management, human resource management, project communication management have been mentioned. What's more, database design and use has been given. At the end of the thesis, a sample project has been given. It has been provided in this sample project as in the role of a project manager to prepare initial documents, establish the Project team members, monitor the schedule plan via PERT and CPM determine the plan of potential risk, make the resource and cost availability plan, and finally prepare dissolution documents. Besides, the function of the web application tool has been analyzed using support of UML diagram program and web application interface has been designed by user experience and all of them have been presented to the project owner's confirmation. The final outcomes of the project process have been analyzed and commented on.
