Evaluation of BİLSEM students' musical creativity and flow experiences through distance education application

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to determine the musical creativity and flow experiences of the students who are gifted in the field of music studying at Antalya Science and Art Center, to determine the relationship between them and to present the necessary suggestions through the DAW application. Explanatory sequential design, one of the mixed methods, was used in the research. The study group of the research consists of 14 gifted students studying at Antalya Science and Art Center in the spring term of the 2020-2021 academic year. The quantitative data of the research were collected with the "Flow Experience Scale Short Form (FKS)" developed by Rheinberg, Vollmeyer and Engeser (2003) and introduced to our language by İşigüzel and Çam (2014) and the "Musical Composition Creative Product Rubric" developed by the researcher. Qualitative data of the research were collected with the "Interview Form" developed by the researcher. Data analysis was done with SPSS program. The Cronboach Alpha reliability coefficient of the Flow Experience Scale Short Form was calculated to vary between .907 and .972. According to the results of the research, the results of the Cronboach Alpha test performed to determine the reliability of the Musical Composition Creative Product Rubric varied between .716 and .788 and were moderately reliable, the correlation coefficients in the relations between the evaluators' scores varied between .841 and .981 and the evaluators' scores were at a high level. It has been determined that there is consistency and that the evaluations are reliable. As a result of the interviews for the content validity of the developed Musical Composition Creative Product Rubric, the expression, content and scoring aspects of the rubric were re-examined and necessary corrections were made. Experts stated that the scoring key measures in accordance with its purpose in terms of content validity. No significant difference was found in flow, anxiety and musical creativity of gifted students who participated in the study according to age group, gender, individual instrument type, past DAW experience and past composition experiences. According to the results of the Spearman Correlation Test, which is about examining the relationship between the flow, anxiety and creativity mean scores of gifted students participating in the research, it has been determined that there is negative relationship between students' flow levels and anxiety levels, positive relationship between flow levels and musical creativity levels, negative relationship between anxiety levels and musical creativity levels. Gifted students participating in the research stated that creativity/productivity, growth, feeling of happiness and feeling of comfort are the benefits of experiencing flow.
