Abstract (EN)

In this study, textile factories were discussed in terms of architectural design principles of industrial buildings. In this regard, literature review was conducted related to the architectural design process of industrial buildings in textile sector. The research data consisted of the construction plans of five distinct enterprises of textile factories (denim, open end, vortex, ring, knitting) in two different locations attacted to the similar group operating within the borders of Kahramanmaraş province. Construction plans were evaluated under the headings of general settlement, design form, visual impact, functional organization, space organization, extensibility, building components and comfort conditions. The obtained data were visualized through drawings produced by AUTOCAD software and enriched with photographs obtained within the scope of on-site inspections. As a result of the research, the enterprise problems arosing from bad planning determined and solutions were attempted to be developed.
