Abstract (EN)
Energy consumption rate has been analyzed for the existing residential building located in Kanlica town, Beykoz, Istanbul. After amendment of building structure, energy consumption analyze has been re-calculated. In the first capter, energy efficiency and performance regolations and energy assessment methods has been mentioned in the World and Turkey, which was launched to reduce energy consumption. LEED and BREEAM criteria have been explained. LEED and BREEAM are well-knownn enviromental assessment methods and assessing total enviromental impact of buildings in the World among many countries. The main weights of these assessment methods are energy section. The highest point can be gained from this section by reducing energy consumption. Computer based simulation programs which analyse energy consumption rates, have been mentioned. These programs calculate heat gain and heat loss values according to hourly weather data. IES software has been explained in detail which was used in this thesis. In the next chapter, heat gain and heat loss calculations and their principles have been explained energy consumption values are based on heat gain and haet loss results. Some amendments have been made in the building structure to reduce energy coonsumptions. These amendments have been explained in detail. In the last chapter, all amendments have been input to the computer model and hourly heat loss and heat gain results have been obtained. Exsisting building energy consumption rates and new building energy consumption rates have been compared and decreases of energy consumptions have been determined. Total energy saving and CO2 emmisions have been indicated. Key words: Energy consumption, Heat loss and Heat gain, Simulation Program, Amendment of Building Structure
