These values; are the richnesses composed of the language, the religion, thebelief, folks, tradition and folklore being to that nation. These richnesses which carrypast to today, today to future as soon as are protected, enlived, culture will live and sothe nation which takes life from that culture will live too. Because, the continuing of anation and protection of it?s charecter is only possible by it?s cultural values.In the study we prepared by this thought and sense we tried to give informationgenerally about folktale which is very important in the perspective of folklore and folkliterature and specially about Bingöl folk tales.We prepared our study backed up to the base of compiling folktales, registeringthem and by scientific methods examination of texts. At the beginning description offolktales, general specialities of folktales, studies have been done on folktales; ın thefirst part type of compiling Bingöl?s folktales; ın the second part, by indicatingtype/subject of category we found the motive lines and numbers ın the Aarne-Thompson and Eberhard-Boratave catologues. In the third part, as soon as weinvestigate the similiar motive in the folktales; ın the fourth part we examined theformal structure. In the fifth part, we told the folktales we compiled, at the end of studywe give ?Bibliografhy? and ?Information about source persons?. So, we tried toappreciate Bingöl?s folktales among folklore.Key words: culture, folklore, folkliterature, folktales, Bingöl folktales.
