Abstract (EN)
Dental caries accepted as pathologic condition is an infectional disease that develops under the influnce of plaque microorganisms, tooth structure, nutrition, time and is frequently seen in the population as a result of interaction between these factors. The elimination of dental caries is possible with mechanical and chemical removal. Even after the removal of decay, microorganisms may remain in enamel- dentin junction and cavity margins.Secondary caries occured after dental treatments are related to insufficient removal of decay and bacteries in the cavity margins. Therefore, application of an antibacterial agent is suggested to eliminate bacteries in the cavity margins before the placement of restoration. While different active ingredient containing products are sold in the market as cavity disinfectant, recently antibacterial dentin-bonding systems have been marketed. This study aims to evaluate the antibacterial effects of chlorhexidin gluconat containing Consepsis, benzalcolium chlorid containing Tubulicid Red, sodium hypochlorid containing Wizard and %3 hydrogen peroxide containing 4 different cavity disinfectant and antibacterial MDPB containing Clearfil Protect Bond on S. mutans, L. acidophilus, C. albicans.3 different goups (10 petri plates each) were constituted. By adding Müller Hilton Agar with standart thickness to all petri plates, the first, second and third groups were infected with S. mutans, L. acidophilus and C. albicans respectively. 5 different holes were constituted in each petri plates. Then one of each disinfectants was left with sterile injectors to each holes İnhibition diameters in each hole stored 24 hours in 370 C were measured and recorded. Antibacterial effect was evaluated according to zone diameter.Anova+ Tukey HSD (Multiple Comparasion) and `İndependent + T-test were used for statistical analysis. As a result; it was found that each disinfectant had different antibacterial effect on different microorganisms. In conclusion;Chlorhexidin gluconate, benzalcolium chlorid, sodiumhypochlorid, hydrogen peroxide containing cavity disinfectants and antibacterial MDPB containing dentin bonding system had antibacterial effects on S. mutans, L. acidophilus, C. albicans and these effects chaged according to microorganism types.Chlorhexidin gluconate containing Consepsis was much more effective on S. mutans among these 3 microorganisms than others. The effects of Sodium hypochorid containing Wizard on S. mutans and L.acidophilus were similar and more than that on C. albicansBenzalcolium chloride containing Tubulicid Red is the most effective substance on S. mutansMDPB containing Clearfil Protect Bond is the most effective on S. mutans and then L. Acidophilus and C. albicans. The microorganism that Hydrogen peroxite is the most effective on is C. albicansWhen the effects of materials on microorganisms were evaluated, it was found that the most effective substance on C. albicans was hydrogen peroxite and on S. mutans ve L. acidophilus was Clearfil Protect BondWe believe that this study is a guide for selection of disinfectant substance after cavity preparation
