A potter?s product: Cook stoves and their impact on ecological balance

Cooking culture is a simultaneous action in the history of humanity. The absolute need of nutrition to stay alive lets the food culture witness such active developments, which resemble to those one encounters on the field of science. One produces and consumes a wide range of tools and materials to meet such a humanistic need. Although half of the world?s population own modern kitchens and equipments, the widest cooking and heating instruments used in undeveloped and developing countries are simple stoves, which uses wood or fossil fuels for cooking. Although these stoves cause a great waste of energy, considering the environmental and physical sources of the public in question, they still are the most technological vehicles for these people they ever had.By this research study; the cooking stoves are examined; in relation with the environment, their social and geographical differences, in which they get consumed, are handled; their utilization purposes and areas, which reflect their local characteristics, are described. The reasons of their wide usage on such a large geography by so many people are examined. Their health effects upon the stove using family members and environmental balance, as being common cooking instruments on the rural areas of underdeveloped and developing countries are also analyzed.
