Try a value classification and values in Mevlana's Mesnevi

ABSTRACT The concept of value has recently become a very contemporary concept. In today's world, where power and matter dominate, all that can be described as worth is put into second place by the Son of man and is even ignored. As a result, endless conflicts and struggles turn the world into an almost uninhabitable place. The way to get rid of this situation is to put aside the endless greed and appetite of mankind and to adopt social and universal values and to put these values into the centre of life. This is the reason why the value concept has been updated in the last period. Researchers and people who work on values are looking for ways to get rid of the situation of humanity. This is the basis of our study. In the first part of our study, the definition of the concept of value, properties of values, importance of values, function and values were studied and a classification of values was made. In the second part, the values in Mevlana's Mesnevi were examined according to the classification we made and exemplified by the excerpts from Mesnevi. The purpose of selecting Mesnevi for our work is to be a value on its own and to be one of the main sources of value adoption. In this study, the document analysis method was used from qualitative research models and the results were interpreted with descriptive analysis and examined according to the classification performed by us.
