Özet (EN)

The communication process that began with the introduction of the newspaper into our daily life has developed rapidly and has changed form and dimension. The change of dimension can be regarded sometimes as an advantage and as a disadvantage. Some dynamics which are slave to the cultural imperialism are the protagonists of this negative consideration that is exploited by the media filter with a preposterous irony. New World people who are exposed to the ceaseless images are alone in the crowd of a metropolitan life and day by day one destroys his/her own internal energy and light. While metropolitan people are forced to individual solitude and are transformed into a robot in terms of sociology and psychology, they have become an object of information consumption in an ironic way. Day by day, their perceptions are indifferent and have become monolithic thinking individuals. This thesis consists of five parts. In the first two parts, mass communication mediums and their historical processes are depicted. Part three is reserved for the evaluation of the concept of indifference in terms of sociology and psychology on third page news. Part four includes the artists who regard the newspaper as an object of art in Turkey. Lastly, part five consists of the evaluation of works of art which are made for the thesis. In this thesis, third page newspaper articles are turned into a topic of art, popular culture paradox is re-fictionalized from the past, present and future triangle with personal and social snapshots. While inviting the audience to review social blind spots by creating a temporal right, at the same time a person is dragged into a journey through his/her special history woven with eagerness and indifference. By questioning again childhood, death, innocence and personal privacy concepts, and the relationship of the observed and of the observer, the criticism of daily life is carried out by the imaginary context from the artists perspective of sensitivities.
