The frequency of low back paın among the employees of a publıc ınstıtutıon and analysing related factors

The aim of this study is to examine the frequency of low buck pain among the employees of the General Directorate of Public Accounts of the Ministry of Finance caused by working environment and its related factors. In face to face interviews, a questionairre consisting of thirtyone questions was given to the employees working at the headquarters of the General Directoare of Public Accounts. Data were analysed by using SPSS 15.0 for Windows statistics programme and figures were compared with chi-square test. As a result, it is seen that lumbago is one of the frequent illness among the public employees. In order to prevent or recover from lumbago, it is aimed to inform employees on the issues of low buck pain, avoiding wrong positions, doing regular exercise, and improving working environment through a training application like waist school.Key Words: Public employees, Low buck pain, Waist exercises,
