Abstract (EN)

The Old Silk Road crosses Eurasia, encouraging the spread of Eastern and Western cultures and trade, leaving a rich variety of historical and cultural resources. Today, "One Belt, One Road" strategic offers a rare opportunity for tourism development across countries and regions along the route. More importantly, the "One Belt, One Road" is both an opportunity and a challenge for the tourism industry in Eurasia. Along the "One Belt, One Road", world cultural heritage accounts for about 74% of the global total, nature reserves account for about 53%, and natural heritage accounts for about 34%. The "One Belt, One Road" has spanned three major economic development patterns and the Eastern and Western cultural belts, from Central Asia to Europe, from Southeast Asia to South Asia and even Africa. The "One Belt, One Road" covers dozens of countries, involving different civilizations, different systems and different religious beliefs. The tourism industry provides an opportunity for mutual acceptance, mutual appreciation and mutual tolerance. Distinctive cultural characteristics are spread through tourists, and cross-regional tourism cooperation also plays an important role in promoting cultural prosperity. The major strategic concept of "One Belt, One Road" is a new perspective and new focus of tourism development. This strategic concept has stimulated extensive attention to the Silk Road tourism at home and abroad, and also provided a rare historical opportunity for tourism development along the Silk Road. Under such a large strategic background, the Eurasian tourism industry has ushered in new opportunities and challenges, and it has also brought about a major impact on the development of tourism in Eurasia.
