Abstract (EN)

In this study, research was carried out on the views of teachers and students regarding the use of humour in Art as a teaching strategy. The working group individually interviewed thirteen teachers and 100 students from primary schools in Çankaya and Sincan districts. In this study, for the views of the teachers and students to be brought out to light, semi ? structured interviews were preferred. The feedback from the interview forms were analysed using the content analysis technique. The acquired information was then analysed and evaluated according to determined codes and themes. Most of the teachers stated to have used humour in the classroom to form a fun atmosphere where students can express themselves better and also learn much better. However some students have reported the teacher not using humour. Furthermore, subjects on which humour can and can?t be applied to should be taken into account. The different kinds of humour educationalist use can make the lesson more effective and add to a fun and nice class atmosphere. Also the different materials and resources used in the classroom will enrich the teaching. Since humour activates different body-organs, learning will be more effective and lasting.Key words: Art education, Teaching strategy, Artistic method, Humour.
