Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, both theoretical and application based study was performed as an energy management application to a petrochemical plant. Primarily, energy subject was evaluated in the World and in Turkey. The importance of energy efficiency and energy savings were highlighted. By creating an energy management system for the petrochemical complex, some energy saving, optimization and efficiency applications were analyzed by performing exergy analysis and optimization in a Power Generation Plant in the petrochemical complex. In order to achieve a more energy efficient systems, Power Plant simulations were done by using Unisim software and optimizations of those systems were done by using ProSteam software. The energy saving as 2 – 5% was established as results of analyses and scenario studies. Additionally, the structure of the energy management, organisation, and the role and responsibilities were defined in details.
