Abstract (EN)

Many methods have been developed for the work of actors from past to present. Stanislavski, the developer of the first systematic technique, inspired the method practitioners that emerged after him. One of the practitioners of this method is Uta Hagen. In this study, the life of Uta Hagen, the video set of Uta Hagen Acting Class and the exercises of the technique in Uta Hagen's book A Challenge For The Actor were examined. In the first part of the study, the life of Uta Hagen, formation, development thoughts and exercises of the method are included in detail. In the second part, the Uta Hagen technique was compared with the role study approach of Stanislavski, Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler and Sanford Meisner. In the conclusion part, how the Uta Hagen technique contributed to the actor's stage work and play text was evaluated. At the same time, it was tried to discuss how to benefit from the Uta Hagen technique in acting education.
