Abstract (EN)

Steel products are among the essential inputs for durable consumer and investment goods in the industry. The level of steel consumption in a country is a significant indicator of its prosperity and development. Both developed and developing countries experience continuous growth in steel consumption and accordingly establish production capacities. Steel is a construction material that stands out with features such as sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and durability. Its recyclability reduces its environmental impact, while mass production and quick construction enable economic benefits. Additionally, steel structures are resistant to natural disasters like earthquakes, allowing the construction of long-lasting and safe buildings. In this context, this thesis aims to analyze and cost-evaluate roof designs using three different roof systems (profile beam, truss, lattice truss) and three different span sizes (10m, 20m, 30m) for an industrial structure. In the first step of the study, a structure with a roof system of profile beam, truss beam, or lattice truss, with a height of 10m, 20m, or 30m, is modeled in SAP2000 to achieve the optimal weight. There are a total of 9 models, and for each span size (10m, 20m, 30m), there are 3 different models representing different roof systems (profile beam, truss, lattice truss). These 9 models will be created and minimum sections will be determined for each model in the SAP2000 program. After completing the analyses, the most economical model for each span size will be determined by interpreting the results. In the Results section, conclusions and recommendations based on the findings obtained in the previous section are presented.
