Design of a budget tracking information system in a defense industry enterprise

A budget preparation problem in a defense industry company is studied in this paper which offers a Java based computer program using Management Information Systems (MIS) concept. MIS is defined as planned system of collecting, proccesing, storing and disseminating data in the form of information needed to carry out the functions of management. This study tackles not only the question of how to use information technologies in management but application of budgeting system for multi-part manufacturing projects. During the development of this budget system, all the phases of building MIS are concerned. Finally, current system for budgeting in a multi-part manufacturing enviroment is benchmarked with this new developed, highly recommendable system.
