Determınatıon of factors affectıng the qualıty of lıfe wıth respıratory functıons of employees ın A textıle factory

The aim of this study is to determine the changes in the respiratory functions of workers working in a textile factory in Düzce and to investigate the factors affecting the quality of life. The planned and cross-sectional study was carried out in a textile factory in Düzce. The study was completed with 602 (86%) volunteers to participate in the study. The data were collected by sociodemographic data form, SF-36 Quality of Life Scale and Respiratory Function Test of Employees. Permission was obtained from Düzce University School of Medicine Non-Interventional Clinical Research Ethics Committee. When the sociodemographic characteristics of the employees were examined; 61% of the employees were women, 20.6% were born in 1994-1997, 31.9% were middle school graduates, 60.1% were married and 52.7% had normal body mass index. Conclusion: It was found that female employees, those with low education level, those with high BMI, single workers, shift workers, smokers, non-athletes, patients with diagnosed disease, and quality of life scores had lower scores as the study duration increased. On the other hand, the mean spirometric values were found to be low in women, those working in workshop and washing department, those who worked up to 1 year at work, smokers and those who were exposed to passive exposure, not doing sports, and those suffering from lung complaints.
