A qualitative study on the effects of industry 4.0 components on production in a textile enterprise

The components of Industry 4.0, which will shape the industrial production of the future and cause some developments today; Technologies such as Big Data and Analysis, Smart Robots, Simulation, Horizontal/Vertical Software Integration, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security, Cloud Technology, Additive Manufacturing, Augmented Reality can be listed. Industry 4.0 applications are increasing and continue to show their impact, especially in production. Industry 4.0 strategy; To reduce production time, costs and the amount of energy needed for production and to increase production quantity and quality. These factors, which include the Industry 4.0 strategy, also coincide with the objectives of production management. Purposes of production management; It consists of four basic factors: quality, quantity, time and cost. The main purpose of production management is to produce the goods and services that the consumer wants by blending these four factors. In this context, it is more possible to achieve and improve the goals of production management with Industry 4.0 components and strategy. This research reveals which Industry 4.0 components are implemented in terms of quantity, quality, time and cost in a large-scale textile company in Izmir, one of the leading companies of Industry 4.0, how they affect the company's application processes and what changes they cause. The research is a qualitative research and the research data was collected through observation, voice recording, document review and in-depth interview techniques. After examining the collected data, it was analyzed with case study analysis. Accordingly, as a result of the analysis, it has been revealed that Industry 4.0 components are currently used in the institution and that it creates positive results in all departments of the institution, especially in the field of production, in terms of quality, quantity, time and cost.
