Abstract (EN)

Trailers, also known as semi-trailers, are of critical importance in the transportation industry around the world. Semi-trailers are used more in Turkey due to their economy, alternative usage methods and intensive service. The chassis constitutes the majority of the weight of tipper semi-trailer vehicles, which are the most preferred among semi-trailer vehicles. Many dynamic and static forces are applied to the chassis of the trailer, where a wide variety of loads are loaded by users. For these reasons, our manufacturers have concentrated their primary work areas on the chassis. In this study, which was designed by reducing the transverse dimensions of a tipper semi-trailer chassis, the new design is compared with the old one in the light of static analyses. The design of the new narrow structure modeled was shaped on the basis of the distances between the axle spring centers according to the standards of the German Standards Institute. The main goal of this study is to design a new semi-trailer in a narrow form, lightweight, and environmentally friendly with the fuel savings it will provide, without reducing its strength. In conclusion; The analysis studies and studies examined show that the new narrow-shaped semi-trailer can be lightened by 7%, thus achieving an environmentally friendly trailer design with fuel savings and emission reduction.
