Abstract (EN)
Aim: This research was conducted to determine the relationship between nurse's ethical sensitivities and organizational commitment. Materials and Methods: The the research consists of 146 nurses working in Ege University Medical Faculty Children's Hospital. Data collection tools used in the research; Nurses' Sociodemographic Characteristics Information Form, Byrd's Ethical Sensitivity Test for Nurses form, and Organizational Commitment Scale form. In the analysis of the data, number percentage distribution and descriptive statistics were performed to define demographic characteristics. The conformity of the data to the normal distribution was checked with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test of normality. Since the data did not show normal distribution, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis test and Spearman correlation analysis were used. Results: It was determined that ; 61.6% of the nurses were 31 years old and under, 93.2% were female, 53.4% were single, 84.2% of them were lisans graduates, 51.4% evaluate working conditions as moderate, 61% are satisfied with their profession, 59.6% are satisfied with the institution, Byrd's ethical sensitivity test for nurses mean score was 21.97±2.70, organizational commitment scale mean score was 2.92±0.50, emotional commitment sub-dimension mean score was 2.93±0.71, continuance commitment sub-dimension mean score was 3.11±0.85, mean score of normative commitment sub-dimension was found to be 2.72±0.75. It was determined that 69.9% of the nurses had a moderate level of ethical sensitivity. Conclusion: The ethical sensitivity of the nurses and their organizational commitment were found to be moderate. Nurses of ethical sensitivity with their organizational commitment between negative and weak correlation was found.
