Performance improvement of a production line with using lean manufacturing technics

Performance is very important for the firms in the manufacturing sector. For this reason, various studies are being made to increase the production performance and to measure the true performance. Many of these studies are related with lean manufacturing. Lean manufacturing approach is being applied more often by the firms and composed of the effective techniques on the performance.In this thesis, improvements were made by using lean manufacturing techniques for a production line of a firm that operate in the automotive sub-industry. The results of lean techniques applications were observed periodically. As a result of lean implementation were gained affirmative outcomes on several issues such as set-up time, cycle time and overall equipment efficiency. Data gathered from the production line was measured with evaluation parameters of the factory workshop. These parameters and the specified decision making units were assessed by the Data Envelopment Analysis.
