ABSTRACT The Assessing of the Premenstrual Syndrome Experience Status and Its Influencing Factors of Female Students at a Foundation University, Nursing Program, Postgraduate Thesis, Gaziantep, 2018 This study has been carried out with sample of 622 female students that are studying at Hasan Kalyoncu University and who are planned to describe with the aim of being able to be investigated the premenstrual syndrome cases of female students who are menstruating and who meet the criteria for being included in the study. The data have been collected by using "Introductory İnformation Form" and "Premenstrual Syndrome Scale". The obtained data have been evaluated by the researcher using SPSS 21.0 package program in computer environment. It has been indicated that 48,1 % of the female students are between at the age of 20-21, 23,6% of them uses cigarette, 53,3% of them do not do exercise regularly, 32,0% consumes coffee regularly, 53,4% of them have difficulty with controlling their anger, 5,3% of them menstruate regularly, 59,8% of them are dysmenorrhea, 47,9% of them uses analgesic for not having dysmenorrhea and 53,1% of them have hot application. The students' premenstrual syndrome scale (PMSS) total average point has been counted as 123,46±36,14. The average fatigue scores of the students that are studying in any departments related with health have been found lower than the students who are studying in other departments. (p<0.05) It has been detected that there has been statistically significant relationship in advanced between the age of menarche with depressive affection sub-dimension and first age of menarche with depressive thought sub-dimension (p<0.01). There has been a significant relationship found between the age of menarche with irritability sub-dimension, anxiety sub-dimension and distension sub-dimension (p<0.05). The point average of the students has been seen much higher between the students who use cigarette and analgesic and the students that consume coffee and are dysmenorrhea in the overall dimensions and sub-dimension of PMSS. It has been concluded that individual and her environment should be supported by training about how to cope with PMS and what to do to raise awareness for PMS.
