Evaluation of individuals' perspectives on health insurance and health services: The case of Gümüşhane

It is not possible for people to predict where and how they will reach health services. Therefore, it is very difficult to predict when health expenditures will be made and how much they will be. These uncertainties increase the importance of general health insurance, private health insurance and health services for individuals. In this context, it can be said that an important part of unforeseen health expenditures and income losses of individuals can be prevented with the help of health insurance. The aim of this study is to reveal the opinions of individuals living in Gümüşhane who do not have private health insurance about general health insurance, private health insurance and health services and to try to determine why they do not need private health insurance. In this context, a questionnaire was applied to individuals who live in Gümüşhane and do not have private health insurance. Implementation data were analyzed using T-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation analysis and factor analysis. As a result, there was no significant difference between the demographic characteristics of the participants and their perspectives on general health insurance, while a significant difference was found between individuals' perspectives on private health insurance and the variables of occupation, income level and health insurance. In addition, a significant difference was found between the participants' perspectives on health services and the variables of gender, educational status, occupation, income level and the number of people living in the household.
