Abstract (EN)
This research aims to formulate and practice a plan for the Individual Instrument Training I Mandolin beginning education program and to measure the degree to which it achieves its goals by including the opinions of lecturers and music teachers regarding the dimensions of the objectives, content and teaching-learning process and evalution, as well as the aims of the methods used in mandolin training at national and international levels, their content and guiding principles. The study, based on action research, uses literature review, interview forms, rating scale, cognitive domain achievement test, student reflection papers and researcher diaries as means for data collection. Qualitative data collected during the research is analyzed by content analysis whereas quantitative data is analyzed using the simple statistical method, mean. This action research consists of three stages: planning, implementation and evaluation. During the planning phase of the study, the research topic was determined, and a semi-structured interview form was developed to collect the data required to design the Individual Instrument Training I Mandolin beginning education program, and interview was conducted to 10 faculty members who have been working in the music education programs of the faculties of education where the working group was formed in the 2021-2022 academic year as well as 20 music teachers working in public schools in Alanya district. In addition, the study investigates into 6 mandolin methods used in the research, one national and five international, selected in line with the suggestions of mandolin artists. Based on the data obtained from the interviews and the methods reviewed, the study designs a plan for the Individual Instrument Training I Mandolin beginning education program. In the action phase of the research, the researcher applied the program as a 14-week lesson plan to four mandolin students studying in the first grade of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education, Department of Music Education, during the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. The study applied both a rating scale as a final exam at the end of the implementation process and a knowledge test and interview form after the final exam to examine the target behaviors for determining the achievement of the objectives during the evaluation phase of the research. As a result of the evaluation of the applied program, it was determined that the realization rates of the target behaviors in the program were high, the program achieved its cognitive, psychomotor and affective field goals, and it was concluded that the program had a high impact on the students. As a result, in this study, it is observed that the program has increased students achievement.
