Attitudes and behaviors affecting individual investors' decisions to participate in stock ipos

Low valuation is observed in the first publicly offered stocks. In addition, initial public offerings do not affect the prices of competitors in the sector. While companies are planning to go public, they do not make market timing in the sector. There could be many reasons for this. Market efficiency and weak competition in the initial public offering market may be one of them. Behavior problems of investors in initial public offerings are still not resolved in the literature. In the IPO market in Turkey, there has been no effective study on the factors affecting investors in the short term after the public offering of companies in Borsa İstanbul. In this study; Several reviews will be conducted to fill a certain gap. Stock market investors are affected by many factors while making their investments. Some investors prefer to buy and sell short-term stocks, while others prefer to buy and sell long-term stocks. While the issues that stock market investors should consider while making their investments should be statistical and administrative issues such as the analysis of the company, most of the investors ignore these and invest according to different psychological factors, buying and selling shares. These factors are many different factors such as the mood of the investors, their personalities, the thoughts of their environment about the company, social media news, hearsay information about the company we call whispers, and youtubers. In the study, it was examined how important these different factors are and taken into consideration by the investors. The results were shared in the study by analyzing the factors they take into account when investing according to different investor types.
