Özet (EN)
While the Ottomans were in cooperation with the Germans in fear of keeping their own existence during the WWI, the Germans manipulated the call of ?Cihad-ı Ekber? to use it for the benefits of its own imperialist activities. The Senusiler, who were still resisting against the Italians even after Trablusgarp, were on one hand supporting the movement of the Islamic Union by accepting the Turkish aids, and on the other hand wanted to keep their relations with the British. But the operations conducted by the officers who were volunteered to Teşkilat-ı Mahsusa by German connections, made it necessary for Şeyh Senusi to act against the British. When the German General Staff wanted to launch on operation to the Suez Canal to aid the European fronts, its purpose was to encircle the British forces and prevent them from sending their colony reinforcement to the European fronts. Teşkilât-ı Mahsûsa continued its work in North Africa via the Afrika Grup Kumandanlığı ruled by Nuri Paşa until the signing of the Truce of Mondros. The failures in both canal operations and the agreements made between Seyyit İdris, the nephew of Seyit Ahmet, and the İtalians and British, led Nuri Paşa?s forces to move west from Bingazi to Mısrata. The conflicts between the local leaders and caused a contraversion between Turkish officials. During the demotion of Nuri Paşa and the advent of Prince Osman Fuad Bey to Northern Africa, Şerif Ahmet was forced to go to İstanbul as a result of not acquiring the results he desired. The most important twist of fate made by the officers and soldiers of the Teşkilât-ı Mahsûsa, including members like the North African originated Baruni, and Yusuf Şetvan, until the end of the war was aiding Germany?s benefits by holding over a hundred thousand men of the Entente Nations here. While the call of Jihad created a mild impact in Tunusia, Algeria and Morocco, on the other hand it made a greate effect at the regions of the Trablusgarp and Bingazi, where the officers of the organization (teşkilat) have been fighting side by side with the local men aginst the imperial forces. Later these officers would be the pioneers of reviving the idea of independence within the North African countries.Key Words1. Osmanlı State2. Northern Africa3. Afrika Grupları Kumandanlığı4.
