The Hungarian music before the First World War and its reflections on twentieth century music

This study has been written to review the composers who benefited the Hungarian music before and after the First World War and the development term in Hungarian and European music. In Chapter One, as a starting point of the subject, the general situation in Hungary and Europe before the First World War has been explained. The improvements which affected music industry and the composers after First World War and the music environment in Europe after First World War have been reviewed. With this, all the improvements which affected music have been explained with the examples. In Chapter Two, the ruling Hungarian composers' lives are explained and compositions are listed; so that the development which had started before the First World War has been showed with the examples. In Chapter Three, the contributions by Hungarian composers on the twentieth century music are explained. The European composers that they have been in contact and interaction and their common studies in music area are stated. In conclusion; in this work entitled "The Hungarian Music Before the First World War and the Its Reflections on Twentieth Century Music" stated how the term that the composers' lived and the term's situations influenced the composers. To have enough information on the term of the music, to understand how this term influenced the composers will help us to understand the compositions which belongs to that period of the time. All the composers are influenced and inspired by the political and social cases of the century that they live and they carry these influences and inspirations to their music. It could be said that First World War period is one of the best example for this situation.
