Syria Nusayris after the first world war

This study is on the Nusayris living in the Syrian region, and the aim of this study is to focus on the changing conditions in the region after the First World War in 1918 and the impact of these conditions on the religious life of the local Nusayris people. From 1918 to the present day, the phases that the belief has gone through, what kind of belief it was before this and how it has undergone a change; In this study, we have tried to emphasise the source of the Nusayrî belief, its worship, the different characteristics of the belief and the ways of religious life of its adherents. Changing world politics and geographical locations in the last hundred years have had a great impact on beliefs in the region. This effect was sometimes positive and sometimes negative. The fact that the local population of the Syrian region, which we have analysed, is both ethnically and religiously diverse has also affected the administrative structure of the region. In this study, we have tried to address issues such as where and how exactly the Islamic sect known as Nusayrism originated, whether its source is Islam or a belief that existed before Islam, whether it was adorned with Islam, the differences in worship, the characteristics of its adherents, and what have been the differences that have emerged in the last century under the influence of Syrian politics. There has been a discussion on the concepts such as sect, faction, religion, on how to define Nusayrism based on the claims that "it was a belief that existed before Islam".
