Abstract (EN)
Excessive increase in the world population and rapid industrialization have augmented the demand for energy. Because the sources of energy are finite, it has became a necessity to look for new and renewable sources. Most of the oil is consumed as engine fuel throughout the world. There fore it is of great importance to search for new and renewable alternative energy sources in internal combustion engines. In this study, an air-refrigerated, four stroke diesel engine with a one cylinder was used. In this engine, a mixture of biodiesel ? diesel mixture used for various proportions. The variations of performance and emission values of the engine researched. Mixtures of %100 diesel (D100), %10 biodiesel ? %90 diesel (B10), %20 biodiesel ? %80 diesel (B20) ve %50 biodiesel ? %50 diesel (B50) were used for fuel. These mixtures used for fuel in turn, the load on the engine increased and the turning of the engine measured after that the DC engine turning measured. At the same time the cylinder pressure measured by a sensor inside the cylinder. While making these measurements emission (CO, CO2, HC, O2, NOx ve lambda) values were designated. The fuel usage measured by a 50 ml baloon, the elapsed time measured while 50 ml fuel was finishing. At last the temperatures of exhaust, fuel and room were measured.
