ABSTRACTMaster ThesisTHE EFFECT OF BITUMEN FILM THICKNESS ON STABILITYAND STIFFNESS IN BITUMINOUS HOT MIXTURESMesude KULOĞLUFırat UniversityGraduate School of Natural and Applied ScienceDepartment of Civil Engineering2006, Page: 52In this study, the effect of bitumen film thickness was investigated on stability andstiffness modulus. Bitumen contents that dependent on film thickness were been availabledby formula. Marshall stability and indirect tensile stiffness modulus tests were done onprepared specimens. In prepared specimens with 7-13 m film thickness , maximum stabilityand stiffness was proved on specimens which have 8 m film thickness. The results haveshown that 8 m film thickness has been appropriate in bituminous hot mixtures.Key Words : Bitumen Film Thickness, Marshall Stability, Indirect Tensile StiffnessModulus, Bitumen Content
