Abstract (EN)

Bioelektric impedance (BIA) values with benign prostatic enlargement of the prostate-specific antigen in patients considered (PSA) is to establish the relationship of the value and the differences from measurements taken from healthy individuals. In this study, Adnan Menderes University dates between 05/01/2015and 04.20.2016, the application was made and Research Hospital Urology Clinic. The study area between inpatient 45-75 years, who were diagnosed with BPH and has not operated for this pathology without chronic disease, 31 patients were enrolled. BPH unthinkable in the same age group, the control group were 27 people without chronic diseases. These people are blood PSA levels were measured. Anthropometric measurements were performed with BIA-101. Data "PASW Statistics 18 Brief Guide" program "Independent Sample T-Test"," Spearman's Correlation Test " and "Mann-Whitney U test" was analyzed using tests. Body mass index (BMI), fat free mass (FFM), cell mass (BCM), muscle mass (MM), ıntracellular water (ICW), fat free mass index (FFMI), cell mass index (BCMI), the UN and the PSA variables were significant differences between the healthy group and patients with BPH. BMI (p = 0.033), FFM (p = 0.022), BCM (p = 0.029), MM (p = 0.029), ICW (p = 0.016), FFMI (p = 0.025), BCMI (p = 0.015) values healthy individuals has remained higher than in the individual patient. PSA valume are opposite those of the group of patients with a diagnosis of BPH is lower than in healthy individuals. BIA is a easy, reliable and inexpensive method to detect effects of disease to body composition such as BPH that seems frequently at population Key Words: BIA, Anthropometry, BPH, BMI
