Blockchain technology: Architecture and applications

Blockchain and crypto currency concepts have been started to be examined frequently both in academic and practical terms. Despite its increasing importance and awareness, the scope and content of the concept of block chain is limited in our country. For this reason, the main purpose of this study is to examine the concept of block chain in detail and to make inferences and predictions about its future. In this respect, firstly, the concept of block chain and the types, functioning and architecture of block chain in relation to the issue have been examined and the subject has been revealed in a broad framework. Then, the most common field of application of block chain technology, which is the subject of cryptocurrency, is discussed. In the second part of the study, the existing and potential application areas are examined with the block chain technology by using literature search from secondary data collection methods, and the usage of the internet of thing (IoT), election security, journalism, international trade, health sector, etc are explained and exemplified. Then, the challenges and obstacles to the block chain were investigated and suggestions were made for the future of block chain technology.
