Özet (EN)

Kidney cancer, fever, bloody urination, pain not present on the right or left side of the back region is characterized by a mass on the side of the patient or in the abdomen. The disease is the most lethal of urological cancers and accounts for 3% of adult malignancies.Male/female ratio is about 3/2. The most common type of disease is renal cell carcinoma. It usually occurs at the age of 60-70 years and there has been a marked increase in the frequency of kidney cancer in the last 20 years. Nuclear organizing regions (NOR) in the cell nucleus are a family of consecutively repeating rRNA genes located in secondary nodes of acrocentric chromosomes These regions transcribed in the interphase are called NOR. The proteins that are involved in transcription are called AgNOR due to their being Argrophylic (silver-loving) and silver nitrate selectively stains these proteins. Since the increase in AgNOR detected in silver-stained cell nuclei informs the growth rate of the cell, it is expected that these proteins might provide information about the potential for developing cancer.
