Abstract (EN)

Water resources in the world are becoming unable to meet the demands of the ever-increasing population. Qualified water resources, which are insufficient in the face of increasing demand, need to be protected. Agricultural irrigation is one of the areas where water consumption is high. It is important to abandon the traditional methods applied in agricultural irrigation and use modern irrigation methods and meet the increasing supply by achieving maximum efficiency with limited water resources. Irrigation scheduling paves the way for irrigating plants with minimum water loss by calculating their water needs throughout the vegetation period. In this study, in the Boğazlıyan Irrigation Association irrigation area of Boğazlıyan district of Yozgat province, with TAGEM SUET (Irrigation Management and Plant Water Consumption System) prepared by TAGEM (General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies), irrigation programs can be made according to standardized reference evapotranspiration (Stz-PM) and Blaney-Criddle methods in different plant patterns and water constraint conditions. The effects of deficit irrigation conditions and different plant patterns on water resource needs and channel capacities are discussed.
