Abstract (EN)
In reinforced concrete structures; when a column member which is axial carrier based on foundation, the stres which is formed between the column and foundation is described as bearing strength. Bearing strength come into prominence especially by obtaining high strength concrete. With HSC ( high strength concrete) ; the conformation loads which come over the foundation increase. When foundation member has low strength, the lateral stress causing by the stress which comes over causes bearing failure. Design codes recommend two ways for preventing bearing failure. The first way is placing reinforcement in the tension zone where axial load cracks occur in the foundation to provide tension stress. The second way is limiting the bearing stress in order not to occur internal cracks. The aim of the offered thesis is investigating the performance of using fiber reinforced concrete to supply two solutions together for preventing failure in reinforced concrete. Because using fibers in concrete does not increase the compressive strength of concrete too much, even though it increases the flexural strength and it slows down the formation of cracking. As a result of, it is expected that the fibers in concrete which is especially exposed to axial compression will prevent the lateral tension crack formation and delay the total failure.
