Abstract (EN)

Regional Security Complexes Theory is one of the theories developed to present alternative approaches to Neo-realism, whose validity was discussed after the Cold War. This theory, which has its own assumptions, argues that the security-oriented analysis approach shaped under local conditions will produce more functional results instead of meta-analysis in today's world. After the 1990s, a similar change in the understanding of security-oriented analysis was experienced in the phenomenon of war. The concept of Hybrid War, whose dominant element is the use of paramilitary organizations in the field of war, has emerged as a type of war that is increasingly used in conflicts that have emerged in recent years. These new approaches seen in both security analysis and warfare also interact with each other. The geography of the Middle East is a region where countries that are in reconciliation and conflict with each other in historical, cultural, social and many other aspects. Iran, one of the countries in this region, is one of the leading countries in the world in terms of paramilitary structures in the hybrid war concept. In the region where Iran is located, these paramilar structures have started to use and enlarge persistently. This hybrid war element adopted by Iran disrupts the threat/security balance of the countries in the region. The biggest problem in the Middle East region in recent years has undoubtedly been the Syrian crisis. Iran's hybrid war strategy in this crisis was also reflected in Turkey and Saudi Arabia with negative effects, causing a regional security complex between the three countries.
