An approach on tourism strategicies into regional development and provincal strategic plannings: A comparative assessment

Regional Development Policies preliminarily aims that constructing equalization between under country-average regions where include common properties about their custom social and economical criterias and other developed regions.In our country, inter-regional and outer-regional development scale difference shows their effects especially on Eastern Anatolian Region and Southeastern Anatolian Region. Cultural tourism sources in these regions by not having any govermental protections disappear day by day both climate effects and unconciousness acts of people. This situation makes regional tourism activity in a very weak capacities. There have been made many strategical tourism based studies aim for increasing employment and comfort rate under the lights of prepared Regional Development Policies.In this study, it is aimed that establishing urgent crucial tourism activity plans on Bingöl, Elazığ, Malatya and Tunceli cities which fall in TRB1 Development Regions, and regarding these cities in respect of their tourism strategies. It is also aimed that reaching solutions about satisfying any important contibutions for upscaling regional toursim capacities on mentioned cities. In the comparision section of this study includes a comparison between Bolu, Düzce, Kocaeli, Sakarya ve Yalova cities which fall in TR42 Development Regions and Bingöl, Elazığ, Malatya and Tunceli cities which fall in TRB1 Development Regions. By means of comparison, these two regions are investigated with a comparision in respect of their similar locational and deploymental positions about tourism strategies. Comparison criterion covers also success results of regional toursim strategies of these two regions. At the end of the this study it is shown that the success of comparision results for these two Development Regions is only valid in the case of SWOT(Powerful-Weak-Opportunity-Threat) analysis method because of insufficient tourism strategy planning materials for TRB1 Development Region.
