The effect of approaches and interventions on the return of spontaneous circulation in bolu province 112 emergency ambulances services on cardiopulmonary arrest cases

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effects of demographic features of the case, reaction times of the ambulances and the medical attentions which are applied, on the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) in terms of the cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA) cases which the paramedics and the EMTs dealt with in 112 emergent aid ambulances (112EAA) in Bolu. Materiel and method: Patients aged 18 and older diagnosed with CPA and applied CPR by paramedics and EMTs in 112EAA between dates of 01.08.2019 and 01.02.2020 are retrospectively analyzed. According to information collected from 112 Emergent Medical Automation System and automation systems of the hospitals; the effects of the medical attentions which are applied by the paramedics and EMTs in 112EAA, reaction times of 112EAA, clinical and demographic features of the patients on ROSC are compared. Results: The study was on 231 patients in total, 84 of them were women and 147 was men. Age average of the patients was 70.69±17.59. CPA cases took place 56,3% in urban zone and 43,7% in rural zone. The ratio of ROSC was detected as %28,1 in study. Arriving time average of the 112EAA for the CPA cases was 6,96 minutes. Statistically, arriving time average of the 112EAA was significantly shorter in cases ROSC is achieved (p=0.001). A significant relation is detected between defibrillation and ROSC achievement (p<0.001). It is detected that ratio of CBSC is higher in the cases supported by advanced airway applications (p<0.001). Conclusion: Within this study it is detected that short arriving times in CPA cases increases the ratio of CPR and defibrillation, correspondingly favorably alters achieving ROSC.
