Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the study was to investigate the factors that affect the cost of the production in different terms and to present the productivity in the poultry companies in Bolu providence. Interview techniques were used for the poultry companies in the providence according to the terms and the regions. Data were collected by questionnaire form and face to face interviews. The sample of the study were the survey between March 2008 and March 2009 including 6 terms of 175 poultry companies in Bolu providence. The results showed that the lowest cost of the production was during the first and the second terms of March, April, May, June and July. It was also found that the bigger companies had more profit in the production compared to the small companies. Furthermore results indicated that the highest cost of the production was seeds ( % 69.17) and the second highest cost was chicks (% 22.95). The other cost factors were heating (% 1.39), labor (% 0.80), medicine and technical labor (% 0.75), electricity (% 0.52), litter (% 0.68), loading live stock (% 0.36) and the maintenance (% 0.23). In conclusion it may be argued that since the high quality seeds and chicks and also the poultry maintenance controlled by the integrated companies the profit depends on those companies as well.Key words: Bolu, poultry, integration, cost
